Refuse Transfer Station, St. Erth at 17/01/2011 19:06

On receipt of this call, both appliances from St. Ives and an appliance from Camborne attended.
The fire involved a large amount of household rubbish alight within the industrial premise. Teams of firefighters wearing breathing apparatus were committed at the scene with high pressure hosereels and a main jet. A JCB was used to transfer the rubbish to the exterior of the building, where smouldering debris was left to extinguish due to the heavy rainfall. The cause was accidental.
