Roche Road, Bugle, St Austell at 21/01/2011 18:05

Two crews from St Austell were called to a report of a chip shop on fire. On the crews arrival they reported the frying range in the shop was well alight. Police were requested to close the road passing the shop and to help with crowd control. The building involved was of one storey and measured 10 x 6 meters. Crews used two breathing apparatus and a foam jet to smother the ranger on fire. At 1847hrs the fire was out but the range was still very hot. Crews used four breathing apparatus and a positive pressure ventilation fan to clear smoke from the building. One member of staff was treated for smoke inhalation on scene by Fire crews until Westcountry Ambulance attended the incident. Crews cut away at the incident to ensure the fire had not spread. This fire had started accidentally.
