Two Persons Rescued From House Fire

Reens Crescent, Heamoor, Penzance at 27/01/2011 07:45

Two appliances from Penzance and one from St Just attended a property with a reported fire in the bedroom. On the initial call from the premise, it was stated that one person was in the room on fire and so the incident was made ‘Persons Reported’.

The property involved was a detached bungalow measuring 7 m x 5 m, on crews’ arrival they entered the property and rescued two occupants. The rescued casualties were left in the care of the Westcountry Ambulance service crews, and fire crews then used two breathing apparatus and one hose reel to extinguish the fire in the bedroom.

Once the fire had been extinguished, crews used four breathing apparatus to ventilate the property to reduce smoke damage. This property had working smoke detectors which helped raise the occupants awareness to the fire.

It is believed that this fire started accidentally.
