Fire In Bar

Duke Street, Truro at 13/02/2011 10:03

Firefighters from Truro were mobilised to a report of an automatic fire alarm sounding at a bar in the city centre. On arrival they discovered that there was a fire on the first floor of the two-storey building, measuring 15 metres by 15 metres.

Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used a thermal imaging camera and one hosereel to quickly extinguish the fire and stop it spreading to the rest of the building. A positive pressure ventilation fan was used to clear the smoke from the premises.

The cause of the fire is accidental and fire safety measures in the building helped prevent further damage, particularly from the smoke.
