On receipt of this call, appliances from Perranporth were mobilised, on arrival a single storey chalet was confirmed on fire, further resources from Truro and Redruth were mobilised, the chalet, believed derelict, measuring six by four metres was totally destroyed by fire, firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used a high pressure hosereel and main jet at the incident to extinguish the fire, crews were delayed for a considerable time damping down and turning over. Arson was suspected. Further details may be obtained from Devon & Cornwall Police, who were in attendance.
