Gorse Fire

One fire appliance from Wadebridge was mobilised to a gorse fire on the downs. On arrival they found a fire with a 400 metre front involving scrub and high gorse. Further resources were requested and an off-road vehicle from Wadebridge and a fire appliance from St Columb were sent.
The fire was extinguished by 2240hrs and firefighters remained on scene for a short time, dealing with hotspots.
Arson is suspected and the police are now dealing.
