Fire Involving Gas Cylinders and Cars

At 14:17 there was a report of a car on fire involving oxygen and propane cylinders. On the initial call three appliances, Two from Camborne and one from Redruth were mobilised. On the crew’s arrival multiple vehicles were on fire, the fire also involved an unknown number of gas cylinders. Crews used four breathing apparatus, two main jets and one hosereel to extinguish the fire. Crews used a thermal imaging camera to investigate the fire, finding a total of four propane cylinders in the fire, one of which had exploded. One oxygen cylinder was also found to have been involved in the fire. Two ground monitors were used to cool the cylinders until they were safe. This fire was accidental.
