Barn Fire - Updated 1600hrs

The Fire Service received a call to a barn fire at Tredinnick Farm, Lanhydrock. Two appliances from Lostwithiel and one appliance from Bodmin were mobilised to the incident along with a Wholetime Officer.

On arrival crews found a Dutch barn approx 30m x 30m on fire containing various farm machinery, straw, manure and cattle feed. The crews requested further appliances which attended from Bodmin, Wadebridge and two water carriers from Wadebridge and Liskeard. In all, 45 firefighters are at the scene dealing with this incident.

Crews have deployed ground monitors, breathing apparatus and jets for fire fighting purposes.

Update 1030hrs: One fire appliance from Lostwithiel and one fire appliance from Bodmin are still in attendance. The water carriers from Wadebridge and Liskeard are shuttling water to the incident, allowing the firefighters to continue damping down using two jets.

Update 1600hrs: A mechanical digger is now being used to turn over and assist with the damping down. Good progress is being made with three jets now in use.
