Penpillick Hill, St Blazey, St Austell at 21/05/2011 15:55

At 15:55 hrs Cornwall Fire Control received a call to a head on road traffic collision on the Lostwithiel side of Penpillick Hill, St Blazey. Crews from St Austell, Lostwithiel and a Rescue Tender from Bodmin were mobilised to the incident. Two vehicles were involved in the collision, two casualties were out of the vehicles but two other casualties were trapped in one car. Fire Crews assisted Ambulance Paramedics with casualty care. At 16:15 a request from the Police was made for Highways to close the A390 at Penpillick Hill. Fire Crews used crash rescue equipment and small tools to release the two trapped casualties. At 16:45 the casualties were in the care of the Southwest Ambulance Paramedics.
