At 0131 This morning CFRS received 20 calls to a reported Chapel on fire. A total of 5 major pumps from St Austell, Mevagissey, Fowey and St Dennis attended the incident. An aerial ladder platform, water carrier and other ancillary vehicles came from Liskeard and Truro. On arrival of the first appliance the building was found to be well alight flames were through the roof. At this present time the fire is being fought using 4 ground monitors and 3 main jets. As further information arrives the news bulletin will be updated.
Update at 0530. Crews now damping down 1 jet in use. Arson is suspected and a full fire investigation will be carried out this morning by CFRS and Devon and Cornwall police
