At 16:04 this afternoon, Cornwall Fire Control received a call to a reported car fire at the back of a hotel on Narrowcliff, one appliance from Newquay was mobilised. On crews arrival they found a derelict accommodation block on fire and requested ‘make pumps two’. A second appliance from Newquay was mobilised immediately to the fire. The property involved was a derelict staff accommodation block and measured 7 x 6 metres and was well alight on the crews arrival. Crews used four breathing and two hose reels to extinguish the fire. This fire is believed to have been arson, Devon and Cornwall Police have been informed.
