At 19:08 hrs this evening Cornwall Fire Control received a number of calls to a premise with smoke issuing from it and persons reported as still being inside the property. Two major appliances from Camborne and one from St Ives were mobilised immediately to the incident. The fire was at the rear of a third floor flat in the building, the flat involved measured 4 x 3 metres. Fire crews used 6 breathing apparatus, two hose reels and one main jet supplied from a hydrant to extinguish the fire. At 19:59 the fire had been extinguished, fire crews made a physical search of the premise and then confirmed that ‘all persons were accounted for’.
A full fire investigation is being carried out at the fire scene, to establish the cause of the fire.
