On receipt of this call, both appliances from Truro were mobilised, on arrival it was found there was a fire in the laundry room of a property, four firefighters wearing breathing apparatus entered the building to extinguish the fire. West Country Ambulance were requested to treat two casualties at the scene for the effects of smoke inhilation.
Crews remained at the scene assisting with salvage and checking the roof area of the property.
On being alerted by the sounding of a smoke detector, a youth aged 12 years within the property immediately placed a 999 call to the Fire Service and then proceeded to ensure that all persons were out of the property. The immediate call ensured that Fire and Rescue resources were immediately mobilised and quickly en route.
