Two fire appliances and the aerial ladder platform from Truro attended a fire involving an electrical appliance in a kitchen area of the maternity wing of the hospital.
Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used one hosereel and a carbon dioxide fire extinguisher to deal with the fire, which was out by 1005hrs.
Wheal Fortune ward was evacuated as a precaution. Firefighters remained on scene for a time, ensuring that all was safe.
