Disposable Barbecue Alight In Skip

A fire appliance from Newquay was alerted following a report of a smouldering skip by a local Police officer this evening.
On arrival it was confirmed that a hot disposable barbecue had been put into the skip and set a small amount of rubbish alight. Firefighters used a hosereel to extinguish the accidental fire.
General Fire Safety Advice:
Please ensure that disposable barbecues are completely cooled before placing them in bins.
