Campervan Fire Spreads

St Ive, Liskeard at 30/07/2011 10:48


At 10:48 this morning a call was received to a Camper van on fire in St Ive, near Liskeard. Two appliances from Liskeard and Callington were mobilised to the incident. On fire crews arrival a ‘Make Pumps 3’ assistance message was passed and it was reported the fire had spread from the Campervan, to a mini car, an oil tank with a running fuel fire and was threatening near by farm buildings. A third appliance from Saltash was mobilised. Crews used four breathing apparatus, two high pressure hose reels and one foam jet. At 11:09 a request for a water carrier was made, the Liskeard water carrier was mobilised. Crews used a foam branch on the fire and a close hydrant was used to refill appliances water tanks. At 12:07 fire crews were damping down, two breathing apparatus and one hose reel was used to turn over and damp down.
