Chywoone Avenue, Newlyn, Penzance at 03/08/2011 22:01

At 22:01 this evening, a call was received from the neighbours of a premise whose fire alarms were sounding. Two crews from Penzance and one from St Just were mobilised to a persons reported property fire on Chywoone Avenue, Newlyn. A local Fire Officer was on scene quickly and found that the fire was out. The fire had started in the properties ground floor lounge, the fire was caused by a candle placed next to an arm chair. The occupant was out of the premise on the Fire Services arrival; however the occupant was treated on scene by Ambulance crews. Fire crews used a thermal imaging camera to ensure the fire was completely out.
