On initial reports of a kitchen fire, both appliances from St. Austell were mobilised, on arrival there was found to have been a fire involving a toaster, which was fortunately out on arrival. Crews administered oxygen to a casualty suffering the effects of smoke inhilation, who was then treated by West Country Ambulance personnel.
