Carbon Monoxide Poisoning

Crantock at 30/08/2011 01:05

At 0005hrs this morning, the fire and rescue service was called to Trevella Caravan Park, Crantock near Newquay to a case of suspected carbon monoxide poisoning. On arrival, 5 casualties (2 adults and 3 children) were found to be suffering the effects of this odourless and colourless gas. The cause of this incident is believed to have been a bbq appliance that was inside their tent. All 5 casualties were taken to hospital by Westcountry Ambulance Service.

Never take a smoldering BBQ into a tented area or concealed area with no ventilation as the BBQ will give off Carbon Monoxide fumes.

This is all the information we have on this incident.
