At 2046 hours we were called to an explosion in a property, two appliances from Bodmin are in attendance along with an appliance from Lostwithiel, at their arrival crews were faced with a building well alight, they are tackling the blaze with two jets and two hose reels. Police, Ambulance, Western Power and Wales and West Ultilities are in attendance.

At this time Cornwall Fire and Rescue service remain on scene using one main jet and two hose reels. Western Power engineers are on scene, digging up a foot path in order to isolate the electrics to the property. One Aerial Ladder Platform is in attendance.

At 23:41 hrs it was confirmed that electrics and gas to the premise had been isolated. The aerial ladder platform was then used to make the scene safer by removing debris and further damping down the scene.

A full fire investigation team and other agencies will return to the site this morning to help establish the cause of this incident. (updated 07:00 19/10/2011)
