Chemical Drum Made Safe

Two crews from Callington, and specialist Environmental Support unit from Bodmin attended a call to an unidentified chemical drum abandoned in a gate way near Kelly Bray. The chemical was in a 25 litre plastic drum, the contents of which was suspected to be corrosive. Fire crews made the scene safe by placing the chemicals in an over drum using gauntlets and two breathing apparatus. The chemical and over drum will now be disposed of by a licensed contractor.
