On receiving a call from Devon & Cornwall Police, two appliances from Saltash were mobilised to the incident. on arrival the crews found the roof and upper floor well alight, more appliances were requested for the incident. The incident escalated into a six pump incident which involved an aerial ladder platform and two appliances from Devon Fire & Rescue. A total of ten firefighters wearing breathing apparatus were committed at the incident, five jets were in use at one time, approximately 50 firefighters were involved at the incident, crews were delayed at the incident for a considerable time extinguishing the fire, the last appliance returning to station at approximately 0800 hours.
