One fire appliance from St Austell and a rescue tender from Bodmin, with stabilising equipment, attended an incident involving a tanker carrying propane gas that had found itself in a precarious position whilst manoeuvring after delivering gas to a property.
The fire crews used a winch and assisted with stabilising the vehicle until the arrival of a recovery company. The firefighters also stood-by whilst the contents of the vehicle were transferred to another tanker.
It was safer for the recovery firm to leave the vehicle in situ overnight and recovery of the vehicle took place the next morning in daylight. An officer returned to the scene whilst the vehicle was recovered, in case any additional safety advice was required.
The incident was concluded at 1120hrs 22 December 2011.
