Fire Involving Wooden Chalet

Two fire appliances from St Just, one fire appliance from Penzance and the water carrier from Helston were mobilised to a fire involving a wooden chalet measuring four metres by ten metres. Firefighters, some wearing breathing apparatus, pumped from open water to supply three main jets to extinguish the fire by 2130hrs.
The fire crews were detained at the scene for a further 45 minutes damping down and making up their equipment.
