Smoke Alarm Alerts Passers By To Fire

lankelly Lane, Fowey at 28/12/2011 14:50

Two crews from Fowey and one from St Austell were mobilised to a report of smoke alarms sounding and a smell of burning coming from a property. Report of the fire came from passers by who had investigated the property after hearing smoke detectors sounding in the premise. On crews arrival a message of smoke issuing was passed. Fire crews gained access to the property using two breathing apparatus and one hose reel. The smoke in the property was caused by a pan left on a cooker. Once the fire had been extinguished crews used a positive pressure ventilation fan to clear smoke from the premise.
