At 0332 Cornwall's Fire Service Control received multiple calls to a car fire in Barkers Green, St Austell. Due to the volume of calls, some 999 calls were handled by Dorset Fire and Rescue Control. Six crew from St Austell Community Fire Station were mobilised and found a Peugeot 306 on fire that had spread to a Renault Kangoo. Two hosereels, breathing apparatus and a hydrant were used to extinguish the fire. The cause being suspected arson, the police were called to the scene. The crew is now in the process of making the scene safe before returning to their station. Please direct further enquiries to Devon and Cornwall Police.
