Two fire appliances from Falmouth Community Fire Station were mobilised to reports of a boat on fire on the foreshore of a creek. The ex-Royal Naval vessel, 30 feet in length is totally involved in fire. Twelve firefighters are at the scene using a jet and light portable pump to douse the flames.

Coastguard and Police are also in attendance assisting the fire crews. The incident is ongoing and updates will be posted as more information becomes available.

Update 0830 hours: The incident has now been scaled down, all appliances returning from the scene. Arson is suspected. Devon & Cornwall Police have been informed.
