Small Fire In Bedroom

High Street, Delabole at 02/02/2012 20:27

Two fire appliances with a total of nine crew attended from Delabole Community Fire Station a report of a flat full of smoke. Smoke alarms could clearly be heard during the call. Firefighters were quickly on scene and, using breathing apparatus and one hosereel, they extinguished a small fire in a bedroom by 2045hrs. A positive pressure ventilation fan was used to clear smoke from the flat.

During the 999 call that was received at the Truro-based Fire Control the two occupants were instructed to leave the building, which they did but it was evident that they were suffering the effects of smoke inhalation. An ambulance was requested and the occupants received treatment at the scene by the ambulance crew.
