Kitchen Fire - Person Rescued

Two fire appliances from Truro Community Fire Station and one fire appliance from Falmouth Community Fire Station (total of 16 firefighters) attended a report of a fire alarm sounding and a smell of burning from a flat.

Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus rescued one occupant, who was suffering the effects of smoke inhalation. They then used one hosereel to extinguish a fire in the kitchen of the flat on the first floor of a four-storey block, measuring 20 metres by 15 metres. The occupant was treated at the scene by ambulance personnel. A full evacuation of the block was carried out.
