A property owner was alerted to a fire in their home after arriving home and hearing the smoke alarm sounding.
A 999 call was received at 22:00 and two appliances from Liskeard were mobilised carrying eleven Firefighters. On arrival the crews confirmed smoke was issuing from a window of a detached bungalow measuring approximately ten by five meters. Two Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus and using a hose reel and a jet extinguished a fire in a bedroom. The crews then used positive pressure ventilation to clear the smoke.
The caused is believed to be accidental and no persons were injured.
