Two fire appliances from St Keverne Community Fire Station and two fire appliances from Mullion Community Fire Station (18 firefighters in total) were mobilised to a report of a car on fire in a garage, that was threatening to spread to a house.
Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used one hosereel to extinguish the fire involving a car and single-storey garage, measuring eight metres by six metres. The fire was prevented from spreading to the house and was under control by 1015hrs. The fire crews remained in attendance damping down until 1130hrs.
Two people suffered smoke inhalation and were treated with oxygen by fire crews until the arrival of the ambulance service.
