Carbon Monoxide Incident

On receipt of a call stating that persons were feeling unwell, one appliance and an officer with a gas detector from Camborne were mobilised to a vegetable packing shed, on arrival crews confirmed that ten persons were feeling unwell, firefighters wearing breathing apparatus are committed at this time with the gas detector to investigate. Four ambulances are at scene. Further updates as and when received.

Update 1315 hours: Because of the nature of the incident a specialist officer from Cornwall Fire & Rescue Service will also be attending.

Update at 1330 hours: There are twelve casualties confirmed at the scene including two West Country Ambulance personnel.

Update at 1400 hours: A further team of firefighters wearing breathing apparatus have been committed to take readings on a gas detector. At present there are fifteen casualties reported at the incident.

Update at 1515 hours: The incident has now been scaled down and handed back to the owners, Cornwall Fire & Rescue resources will soon be leaving the incident. All casualties have been taken to RCH Treliske for precautionary checks.
