Flat Fire

Two appliances from Penzance attended a call to a cooker fire in a flat on Alverton road, Penzance. The flats involved measured 20 x 10 metres and covered three floors. Fire crews used two breathing apparatus and one hose reel to extinguish the fire which was confined to one flat. Fire crews administered first aid to two casualties, one suffering burns and one suffering smoke inhalation. The casualties were left in the care of Paramedics on their arrival. A positive pressure ventilation fan was used to clear smoke from the premise. It is believed that this fire started accidentally.
