Thirteen crew from Callington and Liskeard attended a call to a boiler in a utility on fire. On crews arrival it was believed that the oil boiler had exploded in the property. Crews used two breathing apparatus and one hose reel to extinguish the fire and oil to the building was isolated. The fire was confined to the kitchen area but the domestic dwelling measuring 7 x 4 metres suffered from smoke logging. Crews used a positive pressure ventilation fan to blow the smoke from the premise. After an investigation it was established that the fire had started accidentally and fire crews fitted two smoke detectors in the premise before returning to station.
