Accomodation block, RCH Treliske, Threemilestone at 31/03/2012 09:26

Two appliances from Truro with a total of ten crew attended a call to alarms sounding in an accomodation block at RCH Treliske. On crews arrival alarms in the building were sounding and there was a strong smell of burning. Crews investigated the three storey building wearing breathing apparatus and with a carbon dioxide fire extinguisher. Crews discovered there had been a fire in a pan left on a cooker. The fire was out on crews arrival however the premise was heavily smoke logged. Crews used a positive pressure ventilation fan to clear smoke from the premise. Before leaving Fire crews assisted site staff with giving fire safety information to residents.
