A crew of five from Penzance were sent to investigate reports of a large amount of smoke coming from the Castle Horneck area of Penzance. On crews arrival to the source of the smoke they found a car and outbuildings on fire, a make up of ‘Pumps Two’ was requested. A second appliance from Penzance with five crews and a Flexi Duty Officer was mobilised to the incident. The fire involved a car, out buildings involved measured 7 x 4 metres. Fire crews used two breathing apparatus and two hose reels to extinguish the fire. During the incident fire crews made entry to one smoke filled garage rescuing a very grateful 14 year old Labrador called Bruce. This fires cause is arson suspected and Police officers attended the incident scene.
