At 1735 hrs this afternoon a call was received to a sounding carbon monoxide alarm in Saltash. A crew of four from Camels Head, Plymouth which was standing by in Saltash at the time was sent to the incident. Two adults and three children complaining of nausea and headaches had evacuated the property prior to the fire services arrival and later taken to hospital. The carbon monoxide was sounding prior to fire crew’s arrival in the ground floor kitchen of the property. Crews wore breathing apparatus and used a gas detector in the property. Fire crews ventilated the property as a precaution using a positive pressure ventilation fan.
