Cornwall Fire and Rescue service attended a call to a large quantity of garden rubbish in a heavily wooded area. The pit measured 30 x 30 metres, crews requested ‘make pumps 4’ for crews, a water carrier from Liskeard was also mobilised. Using the water carrier crews pumped water from a near by open water source to the incident. A digger assisted digging out the rubbish whilst crews doused the fire with three hose reel and three breathing apparatus. In total 29 fire-fighters and three flexi duty officers attended this incident. The Environment agency was informed of this incident and crews remained on scene until 1900 hrs. There is no more information available on this incident.
