Two fire appliances from Redruth Community Fire Station and one fire appliance from Camborne Community Fire Station attended a report of a property fire.

The fire was located in a lounge of a bedsit in a single-storey property, measuring approximately seven metres by two metres. It was unknown if anybody was still in the property so a search was conducted by firefighters wearing breathing apparatus. Fortunately, there was nobody in the bedsit and firefighters used two hosereels to extinguish the fire by 2330hrs.

The fire is believed to have started accidentally.
