One crew of six from Penzance and a Flexi duty Officer were called to attend an incident at a residential property where four people were suspected to have suffered carbon monoxide poisoning. On scene there were four people suffering the effects of carbon monoxide being treated by paramedics. Fire crews entered the property wearing two breathing apparatus, using a gas detector a high level of the carbon monoxide gas was detected in the property. Crews ventilated the property using a positive pressure ventilation fan. After investigation it is believed that the source of the carbon monoxide had come from a coal burner which had a blocked flue.
