A39, Bush, Bude at 07/05/2012 14:48
One major appliance and a landrover from Bude are in attendance at a large volume of flooding on the A39 road at Bush. There are several areas of flooding along the A39, crews are currently working on a stretch of water 80 metres long at an estimated depth of one metre. Currently this water is not entering nearby houses but it is believed that if this flood water was not removed then further rain may have resulted in the flooding of these properties. Eight fire crew are assisting Highways crews, clearing the flood. Using a ceiling hook two crews helped to clear two storm drains. It is hoped that further drains can be unblocked as water levels fall. It is believed that heavy rain showers have washed gravel from a near by track on to the road blocking the rains. It continues to rain in this area at this time and further flooding is expected. Highways are sending a road sweeped to help clear the drains.
