Difficult Chimney Fire

One appliance from Helston and a thermal imaging camera from Falmouth attended. Crews used a hosereel to extinguish the fire and an occupant was treated by an ambulance crew for smoke inhalation. The fire crew eventually leaving the scene at 0028hrs.

General Advice -
Chimney Fires
Have your chimney swept at least once per year.
Chimney fires can spread to the rest of the house with devastating effects causing injury or death.
If a chimney fire occurs and smoke enters the rooms of the property, leave closing the doors and windows behind you. Call the fire brigade by dialling 999 from outside eg neighbour's telephone, mobile telephone or telephone kiosk.
