On receipt of this call stating that the roof of a large domestic property was on fire, appliances from Liskeard, Callington and Saltash were mobilised, on arrival crews confirmed that smoke was issuing from the roof, on further inspection it was found that there was a fire in the chimney which was allowing smoke to percolate into the roof area, firefighters wearing breathing apparatus were committed at the scene, the fire was extinguished using stirrup pump and rods, also a high pressure hosereel and also a 13.5 metre ladder was used at the incident. Crews were delayed a considerable time, the last appliances returning at approximately 1600 hours.
