Two fire appliances from Liskeard, one fire appliance from Bodmin, one fire appliance from Lostwithiel Community Fire Stations along with an Incident Command Unit from Launceston Community Fire Station and an Operational Support Vehicle from St Austell Community Fire Station are in attendance at a fire involving a quantity of scrap cars and scrap metal.
Approximately 30 firefighters, some wearing breathing apparatus, are using three jets and one hosereel with water supplied from a fire hydrant to extinguish a fire involving scrap cars and scrap metal covering a area approximately 30 metres by 30 metres.
Update 1105hrs: Good progress is being made.
Update 1205hrs: The fire was brought under control by 1145hrs. Good progress continues to be made damping down. The incident has beeen scaled down and two fire appliances from Liskeard Community Fire Station with ten firefighters remain in attendance, with all other fire crews being returned.
The fire is believed to have started accidentally.
Update 1300hrs: Firefighters have finished damping down the fire, their gear has been made-up and they have left the scene.
