Firefighters from Penzance Community Fire Station attended a report that a battery was overheating causing a room to fill up with fumes.

Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus entered the room to remove the battery to a safe place. The room was then ventilated using a positive pressure ventilation fan.

Three members of staff at the school had breathed in fumes and, although they were not suffering any ill effects, were checked over by ambulance personnel.

The incident was dealt with by 1015hrs.
