Ten firefighters from Torpoint and Saltash attended a call to a Public House which had a confirmed fire in its roof space. The building measured a 10 x 10 metres and a thermal imaging camera showed a large amount of heat in the premise in the roof space on crew’s arrival. After crews initially investigated the roof space using two breathing apparatus it was believed that the fire was out. Western Power was requested to attend to isolate electricity to the premise as the incoming supply in the roof was live. Crews remained on scene until the electricity had been isolated and then carried out a more thorough inspection of the roof space to ensure the fire had not spread. This fire was believed to have started accidentally.
