At 00:52hrs this morning, a call was received from a concerned neighbour to fire alarms sounding in a nearby property. Six firefighters from Camborne attended the premise on Vyvyan Street and accessed the premise from a window on the first floor using a triple extension ladder. On their entry fire crews found there had been a grill pan fire which was out on their arrival; crews removed the grill pan to outside the premise and naturally ventilated the property. The occupant of the premise had fallen asleep whilst cooking and was awoken by fire crews. Once awake the occupant was given suitable advice. Fortunately, this fire was contained by the cooker; had other methods of cooking been involved then crews feared there may not have been such a happy ending.
