Be Social With Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service

at 21/06/2012 11:15

Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service (CFRS) has taken to social media to give web users an insight into life at the Service.

Facebook users and Twitter followers will receive updates on incidents and news at CFRS as well as safety messages, campaigns and events. Since joining the sites in March, CFRS has gained more than 280 Twitter followers and over 150 ‘likes’ on Facebook.

And the Twitter bug has made it to the Service’s senior officers with Des Tidbury, Cornwall’s Chief Fire Officer (@CornwallCFO) and Paul Walker, Deputy Chief Fire Officer at CFRS (@CornwallDCFO) also regularly sharing their thoughts on a range of topics.

“Social media is a great way for CFRS to reach a broader range of audiences,” said CFO Tidbury. “Twitter is particularly useful for giving updates on incidents and safety messages, while on our Facebook we’ve had queries about fire safety and recruitment.”

As well as CFRS’s main Facebook page (www.facebook.com/CornwallFRS) there are also pages for the Service’s Flashpoint Lifeskills Centre (www.facebook.com/FlashpointLifeskillsCentre) and early learning fire safety (www.facebook.com/elfsInCornwall)

Follow @CornwallFRS for Twitter updates from CFRS.
