Tintagel head, Tintagel, Delabole at 07/08/2012 05:46

At 05:46 hrs this morning Cornwall Fire and Rescue service received a call to a derelict property which has been severly damaged by fire. The property involved was two storeys and measured 10 x 5 metres and was well alight on crews arrival. Two major fire appliances, one landrover and a water carrier from Delabole and Wadebridge stations attended the fire, with a total of 17 firefighters. Difficult access to the property and issues with the water supply is making conditions more difficult for crews to tackle the fire; crews are using one main jet connected to a hydrant. At 06:50 crews are still actively fighting the fire.

Update 07:15 hrs. This incident has now been sectorised, crews are using two jets which are being supplied from a dam and a light portable pump. Crews are making good progress on extinguishing the fire.
