Fire Outside Disused Nightclub

Two fire appliances from Newquay Community Fire Station attended reports of a fire. When the fire crews arrived they discovered that a fire involving personal belongings in a doorway had already been extinguished by members of the public. The fire alarms were sounding in the disused nightclub and firefighters made entry to confirm that the fire had not spread inside. Fortunately, there was only slight smoke-logging inside which was cleared by the firefighters.
Arson is suspected and Devon & Cornwall Police have been informed.
